Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend a fundraising event?

Your organization handles registration and decides who tickets are available to. Events can be offered to your own community or opened to the public.

What happens if we don’t reach the 20-person minimum?

We need at least 20 paid participants one week before the event to confirm the workshop. If the minimum isn’t reached, the event can be rescheduled and your organization can refund anyone who isn’t able to attend the new date.

What happens if someone cancels after the event is confirmed?

Once the workshop has been confirmed, the minimum workshop fee is still owed even if participants cancel or receive refunds afterward. Your organization can choose its own ticket cancellation policy, including making tickets transferable.

How does payment work?

Your organization sets the ticket price, handles registration and collects ticket payments directly.

Once the minimum is reached one week before the event, we confirm the booking and invoice your organization based on the number of registered participants. Any additional participants added after that point can be settled after the event.

What does our organization need to provide?

Your organization needs to provide the event space. This could mean hosting at your own location or reserving a separate location. A separate venue is generally preferred for adult events that want to have alcohol and food available. We can suggest a great local venue so you don’t have to spend hours searching.

In either case, you will need to have tables and chairs set up as well as someone to handle participant check-in upon arrival. This task can absolutely be done by the same person assisting the instructor, if you have one.

How does the volunteer rate work?

Provide one volunteer to assist during the workshop and your organization receives the reduced per-participant rate and increased event capacity shown above. Training is required prior to the event and can easily be arranged with our instructor.

What ages are recommended for events?

For the kids/family events we suggest ages 5–17. Children under 8 years old need their own grown-up helper to attend with them at no additional charge, unless they would like to make two separate projects.

For adult events we recommend ages 18+. Events may be held at a restaurant that serves alcohol, but all applicable local and federal laws still apply.

Do participants need crafting experience?

Nope! Our workshops are beginner-friendly. We provide the instruction, tools and materials participants need to complete their project.
